Monday 2nd February 2009    The Wedding of Patrick and Niamh  at Gloria Palace

Patrick and Niamh travelled from Ireland for their wedding in Gran Canaria joined by 145 members of their family and friends to celebrate their marriage. The couple wanted something that was different than a traditional wedding and informal as possible whilst stylish and classy. They had been working with us for 11 months and everything was organised and in place 10 weeks before the wedding.

Paul, Thank you for everything, it was an amazing day, the total organisation left me with 3 months of relaxation before the wedding and sorry for the 300 emails i sent you, but everything was perfect and ive recommended you to all my friends- Niamh

The family gathered on the top terrace of the hotel which was laid out with dressed chairs and a central red carpet as they awaited the bride to walk down the aisle as Stacy Mae sang the opening song - The way you look tonight!  During the ceremony, the singer, who has an international reputation sang several more songs as part of the ceremony which was modern and enlightening and had been especially written for the couple by the Revd Paul Gibson of St Sebastians Inclusive Church.

WOW! the singer was brilliant during the ceremony, i didnt realise until afterwards that she had sung before audiences of 1000s and had been on TV as well, everyone was so impressed with her talents coupled with the outstanding service that you wrote for patrick and Niamh - Jona{pats mum}

Following the ceremony the couple shared a drink with their guests on the terrace and the photographs were taken by the photographer throughout the hotel and in the hotel gardens. Patrick and Niamh opted for the Buffet style menu and also opted for an intimate top table and then further tables scattered around the terrace for the rest of their guests. At the end of the meal the Hotel Staff brought out the 10 tier wedding cake to gasps of amazement from everyone present.

The first part of the evening was the entertainment and we arranged for the Platters to perform for the guests and within seconds everyone was clapping dancing and joining in, for over an hour of top class singing and dancing, which was overwhelmingly appreciated by everyone.

Words fail me at the moment, they were brilliant, Motown and Soul together as one, I know we wanted an Irish Band, but are glad we went with your suggestions for a double act of entertainment instead, our guests all said that they were unbeatable, for those who remember the original platters, most said that they were even better than the original ones!   John {Pats dad}

After a short break, the second part of the entertainment was the brilliant new Vegas Jubilee Show with the dancers and singer performing a whole host of songs and dances to ensure the party spirit continued and again the guests were dancing and clapping away throughout the show and even with some of the shows dancers.

The day just got better, how on earth do you manage to achieve all that you do to such a high standard, the Vegas Show as brilliant! I was in Las Vegas several months ago, and your own version of the Vegas Show was absolutely stunning, the costumes, dancing and singer was brilliant,i am almost lost for words and have never enjoyed a wedding so much in my 70 years !  Niamhs Gran!

In the Salon Banquette, the evening ended with a 4 hour disco by our resident DJ -Sarah- who had everyone up and dancing for the rest of the evening playing all the favourite songs and special requests. The party didnt want to end and literally everyone danced for the last hour non-stop. We wish the couple every sucess in the future.

and finally, Paul..we can never express how much you mean to us, not just as our wedding planner, but also as an amazing friend as well. Can we clone you so that everywhere there is a planner as dedicated and effective as you. The service, food, shows and Sarah as the DJ was amazing as well...we will come back and see you soon and buy dinner for you. Thank You for everything    Niamh and Patrick xxx

The Wedding of Sharon and Owen took place on what the Chinese see as the most luckiest day -08-08-08 and was in three venues across the Island, making the occasion an interesting mixture of locations and pure romance created by Gran Canaria Weddings own fairy Godfather.

The Ceremony took place at Anfi Del Mar with special permission, and started in a sombre mood as Sharon and Owen asked for prayers for those whom they love but see no longer. The Revd Paul Gibson conducted a brief commemorative ceremony with the dedication of 4 named candles at the Altar, after a moments silent prayer, a heart shaped balloon was released   with the name of the person being remembered and a personal message enclosed and we all watched them disappear into the skyline.

We then moved on to the ceremony which was open, vibrant and uplifting as we gave thanks for the love that is shared by Owen and Sharon and the joining of the two families into one unified body. Sharon’s best friend, Maureen read the first reading and Rhianne, Owen’s Daughter read the final poem. The whole ceremony was uplifting and filled with joy.

Following the initial photographs from our resident photographer, Mr. Mos, the guests retired to MeemSaab for drinks whilst Sharon and Owen had some personal photographs taken on the Island. Then the guests were taken on a coach for a mystery journey where they didn’t know the final destination-which has been a closely guarded secret.   The Bridesmaids and mother of the bride left in an E-Class Mercedes for the same mystery destination. Whilst Sharon and Owen were taken on a short walk to the first surprise of the day- A silver stretch limousine with chilled champagne.

After a 15 minute journey, the guests arrived at Black and Red Dinner Theatre and assembled on the terrace for Champagne and Canapés and then there was a standing ovation for Sharon and Owen as they descended the stairs accompanied by two Vegas Showgirls. natalieGloria Palace was at its best on a hot saturday afternoon as the family and friends of Natalie and Arron gathered on the restaurant terrace of the hotel for the wedding conducted by our celebrant. As the music of Roberta Flacks -The First Time I ever Saw your face was playing, Natalie accompanied by her Father walked down the red carpeted aisle accompanied by her four bridesmaids and 3 page boys to the altar where Arron was waiting for her.   Natalie looked stunning in a full wedding dress with a train.   After the words of welcome, Rudi sang you to me are everything, which summed up the words of the couple throughout the ceremony.

Following some romantic poems and the act of committment, the promises of love for ever created an emotional scene with hardly a dry eye and tissues were at the ready. Rudi then sang a love song for the couple entitled The Rose and at the end of the song presented the couple with a small bouquet of roses each.

With everyone forming a circle of love around the couple,they exchanged their rings and expressed there true love for each other for the rest of there lives.

Whilst You raise me up was played, everyone had time to reflect on their lives and loves as the sounds of Josh Groban echo'd around the terrace. Following a comical and heartfelt homily by the celebrant the ceremony   ended with the couples favourite song - Fields of Gold by Sting

Mr Mos then took over 180 photos of the couple, their family and friends around the stunning hotel and its gardens, before the Champagne and Canapes reception followed as the backdrop of Tenerife appeared through the clouds to create a stunning effect. The three course meal was served on the terrace covered with white and ivory shades and the wedding cake was outstanding. 28th April 2007                 Medieval Themed Wedding at Fataga   150 Guests

AWESOME!

karin1This wedding was something that was outstanding. After 7 months of planning with Marcos and Karin, dreams definitely become a reality at the very first medieval wedding held in Gran Canaria. The Venue at Molino de Aqua in Fataga, with was built in the 17th Century was transformed by our team into a medieval banqueting hall with Banners, Shields and candles to provide a room that enabled everyone to drift back through the centuries with a central Throne area for the Bride and Groom. At 445pm two separate processions made their way to the Church in Fataga, The Grooms procession with The Groom riding on a white horse in full medieval dress flanked by two outriders equally dressed and carrying flags came up the hill to the church and at the same time the Brides procession left Molino de Aqua, with the Bride in a Medieval Wedding Dress and riding a White Stallion escorted by Del outriders, and a carriage carrying karin2

Bridesmaids and Page Boys again all dressed medieval style made there way down the winding roads to the church. On arrival they were greeted by 100 guests all in costume plus a similar amount of local residents and tourists as well. The Procession entered the church that we had decorated also for the Wedding in Spanish to start the celebration off. After the ceremony the couple came out of the door to be greeted by a Guard of Honour of men with Swords. After the photos the couple led the procession of horses and carriages back to Molino where they were met by Mulled Wine and entertained by a juggling jester.

Then came the Banquet, with Bread, soup, black pudding, turkey, piglet, legs of lamb, chickens, fruit, fig pudding and an abundance of other delicacies and drink, before the arrival of the Castle style cake. Then followed fire eating, medieval dancing into the night and early morning. It was a real pleasure to turn Karin and Marcos Surez- Lopez's dreams into reality and we wish them every success in the future. The Wedding was subsequently featured on Maspalomas TV and in the local Press
